Long-tailed Tits

It is often easier to see and photograph Long-tailed Tits in the autumn and winter months, long after breeding is over, as they usually tend to travel then in family groups of several birds. When one or more alight on an intended perch, they usually stay for a moment longer than the quick moving Coal Tit. However it is still best to be well prepared to catch them posed well. It is lucky to get a well focused shot of these small birds in flight without flash.
